Effective immediately The Division of Rheumatology is seeking a full-time permanent faculty position for Head, Division of Rheumatology at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children: affiliated with the University of Toronto.

The successful candidate will act as a key steward and mentor for our diverse faculty and trainees, be a key collaborator to our allied health and nursing partners, innovative partner to the Research Institute, and champion the clinical services, education and research discoveries, while playing a key strategic role to ensure alignment of academic activities to the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dedicated to supporting the growing diversification and spectrum of specialized clinical services, this role provides unique opportunities for creative professional activities and innovative translational research. Canadian and International trainees have embraced the opportunity to pursue the fellowship in Rheumatology, as well as subspecialties such as Lupus and Systemic Vasculitis.

The Divisional clinical care programmes encompass Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Juvenile Dermatomyositis, Morphea, Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Juvenile Spondyloarthritis, Systemic Vasculitis, Autoinflammatory Syndromes, Kawasaki Disease, Uveitis, Triange & Transition Clinics, as well as a Northern Ontario Telemedicine Clinic. The Division of Rheumatology also offers out-patient services in our medical day unit.

The Division of Rheumatology also offers out-patient services in our medical day unit. The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications: Leadership and mentoring experience with a track record of academic and research excellence; and Demonstrated vision for child and youth health.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary per annum ($300,000-$375,000) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
