About the Position

Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services, Department of Oncology, Division of Radiation Oncology at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) is accepting applications for a full time Radiation Oncologist to start January 2, 2025.

The successful applicant will join a team of multidisciplinary cancer programs located at the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton Zone and 26 Radiation Oncologists currently on staff working within the radiation treatment area.  Contribution to clinical trials is expected.  

The CCI is a free-standing integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral centre for Northern Alberta. It has a strong record of basic and translational research and clinical trial activity in oncology.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have a M.D. or equivalent degree and Radiation Oncology specialist certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.

This position is LMIA eligible. AHS Sponsorship for CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment is being offered for this position. Candidates must be eligible to obtain licensure in Alberta without restriction and for medical staff appointment at Alberta Health Services.

Compensation

Compensation will comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Medical Association. The annual compensation will be calculated in accordance with the Cancer Care Alberta Physician compensation grid for Radiation Oncologists ranging from $322,857.00 (level 1) to $464,743.00 (level 4). Grid placement will be based on qualifications, training, and experience.

The Oncologists are eligible for Additional Workload Compensation during the positions vacancies in Cancer Care Alberta.

Service Days

CCA Oncologists are contracted to work 210 services days per year.

How CCA Supports You

CCA provides a recruitment support incentive of up to $105,000 that includes the following, conditional on leadership approval:

1. Relocation Support: up to $10,000 for recruits within North America and up to $15,000 for recruits outside North America.

2. AHS Sponsorship Support if required.

3. Immigration (work permit visa support) if required.

4. Strategic recruitment Incentive.
