Details:

The Primary Care Physician will function within an interdisciplinary, collaborative primary health care team as a first-line provider of primary health care, episodic care, chronic disease management, prevention, and promotion to clients across the lifespan living in the Inkster Community. This position will work at NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre (located at Access NorWest) and other community based sites as required.

Qualifications:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM). o Employer will cover cost of CPSM license and Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.

• Certification in the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) certified.
• Experience in primary care settings; acute care and community settings is an asset.
• Excellent advanced clinical, communication and counselling skills.
• Highly developed clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prescribe opioid agonist therapy (OAT) an asset or interest in becoming an OAT prescriber
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, primary care nurses, primary care assistants and allied health professionals.
• Must be willing to work weekdays and evenings.
• EMR (Accuro) and MS Office proficiency an asset.
• Child and Adult Abuse Registry and Criminal Records Check required.

This position can be an independent contractor or an employee of NorWest Co-op Community Health including benefits.
