Full-time hours for a salaried physician is defined as 37.5 hours per week; and
Full-time contract-for-service hours is based on a maximum of 1,725 hours per year. Physicians have the option of choosing a salary, contract-for-service, or fee-for-service payment modality. The Master Agreement details Information related to payment modalities, including salary; hourly contract-for-service rate; fee-for-service tariff of fees; blended payments (shadow billings); on-call payments; and benefits including paid vacation entitlements, CME funding, RRSP program and more. Qualified and licensable candidates may be eligible for a return-in-service grant of $100,000 with a 3-year (5,850 hour) commitment to Health PEI;
Eligible moving expense reimbursements up to $10,000 are available; Opportunity to teach Medical Learners and Residents with faculty appointment at affiliated universities; PEI has hospital-based province-wide electronic health records giving access to lab reports, radiology reports and images, and physician notes; and Other incentives as per the Master Agreement. |

Education |
The successful candidate must have certification or eligible by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) with FRCPC in Internal Medicine;
Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island; Appointment to the Health PEI Medical Staff and appropriate privileging; In accordance with the Canadian Immigration regulations, preference will be given to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada; however, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Atlantic Registry Starting May 1, 2023, physicians whose primary practice is in Atlantic Canada (and hold a general registration in either PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador) may be eligible to obtain registration to practice in all four Atlantic Canadian provinces via the Atlantic Registry. For more information or to opt-in to the Atlantic Registry, contact the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island today! Health Care Workers are required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination as per Health PEI’s Covid-19 Immunization and Management Policy.
