Language: Job duties are required in English EFT: 1.0 Shift: Days/Evenings/Nights/Weekends Salary: Daily stipend of $ 2,609.24 (effective April 1, 2024) for 24-hour coverage Fee-for-service billing for consultative work outside of coverage of the acute care unit. Estimated annual income between $305,000 – $350,000. No benefits are available for this positionStart Date: As soon as possible Qualifications: Specialists in General internal Medicine who either have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons certification in General Internal Medicine or are Royal College eligible for certification in General Internal Medicine and are eligible for licensure as a specialist in General Internal Medicine in Manitoba and have CMPA coverage in the province. Medical Degree required. No minimum experience required. Site and Community: The IERHA is looking for two general internists to join its medical staff. This is considered a full-time/permanent position and would include covering an acute care medical unit as well as providing consultation service the other medical and surgical wards. Preference will be given to candidates that already hold Royal College (Canada) certification in General Internal Medicine. There is also an opportunity for a community consultative practice. The Selkirk Regional Health Center is a regional hub for the Interlake Regional Health Authority. The IERHA provides service for approximately 135,000 people. It is located to the north and east of the City of Winnipeg. SRHC is a newer facility having opened in 2017. The hospital currently has 65 beds but is expanding to 95 beds in the fall of 2024. The hospital provides emergency services (regional hub), medical services including community cancer care and dialysis, low-risk obstetrical care, general surgery, urology and gynecologic surgery and well as extensive outpatient services including pain clinic services. SRHC boasts a busy diagnostic services department including xray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and echocardiography. SRHC doesn’t have an intensive care or special care unit. Selkirk is a city in the western Canadian province of Manitoba located approximately 22 kilometers (14 miles) northeast of the capital city of Winnipeg, on the Red River. The city is connected to Winnipeg via Highway 9.
