The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the Department of Internal Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, invite applications for Physicians in the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful applicant will work closely with the Section of Palliative Care Medicine to provide inpatient care in various locations throughout Winnipeg. This is a nil academic position, with a start date of as soon as possible based on the successful candidate’s availability, for a term to be negotiated renewable upon favorable review.

The faculty members in Palliative Care form a section that oversees the major in-patient, out-patient, and community based palliative care services within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, and also provide consultation services to the other provincial health care regions on call. Section physicians provide clinical attending services at two inpatient palliative care units, provide in-patient Consult Services in all the regional hospitals, consult in the emergency rooms, and see patients in their homes.

The successful applicant will provide comprehensive, integrated care, treatment and support to all patients registered on, or consulted to, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care program. As part of the health care team, these Physicians must be able to interact in a positive manner with other members of the team, patients and their families to create a pleasant working environment and to provide optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a subspecialty or specialty in Palliative Medicine, either in Canada, or in the country of current practice, and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.

Compensation:

As per Doctors Manitoba agreement.
