Details: Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), The University of Manitoba and the Department of Pediatrics (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, which job duties encompass 70% of the position. The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 30% of the position. Job duties are required in English. Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Pediatric Gastroenterology. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, and must have senior specialty qualifications in Pediatrics in the country of current practice The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine. The incumbent joins the existing Peds GI team members and will share the service needs in the Section. Compensation: Compensation is derived from a blend of fee-for-service income plus additional stipends. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
