Northern Health is seeking a General Internal Medicine Specialist for Dawson Creek BC, a vibrant and youthful Northern city with a population of 13,000. New grads are welcome! Dawson Creek Hospital serves as the Regional Centre for the surrounding area, and helps serve the larger population of the beautiful Peace River Region, approximately 70,000. The Hospital has 31 acute beds and 3 higher acuity beds, plus 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. The city offers shopping, services, restaurants, cafés, a health food store, an art gallery, live theatre, and the state-of-the-art Ovintiv Events Centre that hosts major music concerts. Our indoor Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday, year-round! Recreation opportunities include an indoor Aquatic Centre, indoor walking track, a curling rink, two indoor skating rinks, a full-size outdoor speed skating oval, 25 kilometres of groomed trails for cross-country skiing, Bear Mountain Ski Hill (downhill skiing and snowboarding), back-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, gyms, yoga, pilates, and dance.
