The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG), a fully affiliated teaching site for the University of Ottawa, is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for the OSI Clinic in Kingston, ON.

The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Center is seeking to recruit a psychiatrist with exemplary credentials, and a demonstrated proficiency in working collegially and respectfully within medical and multidisciplinary teams. There is opportunity for active teaching and research, and the anticipation of participation in the administrative functioning of the hospital, either through committee work or leadership opportunities.

The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG) is a fully affiliated teaching site for the University of Ottawa and provides clinical service, teaching and research opportunities.

The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group is composed of a 3 campuses located in Eastern Ontario and is comprised of:
• A 190-bed state-of-the-art mental health facility and one 96-bed facility (32 recovery beds and 64 long-term care beds) located in Ottawa, and;
• The Brockville Mental Health Centre which is a specialized mental health facility located in Brockville, has 161 inpatient beds (61 Forensic Treatment Unit, 100 Secure Treatment Unit) and 183 beds in the community (Homes for Special Care);
• A campus at Carlingwood Shopping Centre, which houses the Community Mental Health Program, with additional community related clinics around the region, i.e. Prompt Clinic;
• Two satellite facilities, one in Arnprior and one in Kingston for the Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Program. These facilities provide care for clients of Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) and eligible members of the Canadian Forces (CF) and RCMP who have an OSI, and to their families.
This position is responsible for providing psychiatric assessments, consultations, psychiatric care and medication management to our outpatient clients, ensuring compliance with program standards, contracts, policies, procedures, and guidelines. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Psychiatrist to work full-time and support the organization. Reporting to the Clinical Director of the OSI Clinic, the ideal Psychiatrist will be excited and motivated by the opportunity to work in a program that emphasizes evidence-based, and interdisciplinary healthcare. The position is located at the Kingston OSI Clinic. The hours of operation for the Kingston OSI Clinic are Mon-Fri 8:00-16:00.

The successful candidate will possess:
• Current CPSO licensure and CMPA
• Experience with the care and treatment of those with operational stress injuries.
• Experience in the mental healthcare of military, veteran, and/or law enforcement personnel
• Demonstrated medical/clinical leadership skills, a completed working knowledge of psychopharmacology and experience in mental health service delivery to a broad-based individual and multi-cultural patient population.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingualism preferred.

The successful candidate should:
• Be comfortable with multidisciplinary teamwork in both clinical and administrative settings.
• Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make decisions.
• Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
