The Department of Hospital Based Medicine at the Brant Community Healthcare System is
currently looking for Hospitalists to join our acute hospitalist team at the Brantford General
Hospital site. The Hospitalist role accountabilities include MRP care for patients admitted to
General Medicine as well as co-management of Surgical and Psychiatric patients. We have
comprehensive and collegial specialist support, including 24/7 access to internal medicine, ICU,
and surgical services. Remuneration for this role includes a competitive daily stipend (with
shadow billings submitted to the hospital), on-call HOCC stipend, and fee-for-service billings for
patients seen while on call.

The ideal candidate will have independent practice license from the College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Ontario and certification with the College of Family Physicians or Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons. Hospitalist experience considered an asset. They will be practicing
as a part of a group of friendly and supportive group of physicians who provide holistic, patient centered and team-based care to inpatients admitted with a variety of medical concerns. We are
looking for individuals with exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills, and a dedication to
service excellence. They should also be a strong team player to work effectively with
physicians, nursing, staff, patients, managers and the community with a commitment to medical
education.

BCHS serves a high population of indigenous persons in the region therefore culturally
appropriate care for indigenous patients is a priority to the organization. Physicians with
experience and an interest in caring for indigenous persons are encouraged to apply.
