The organization comprises of two main hospital sites, the Brantford General Hospital and Willet Hospital. BCHS is the area’s acute care facility, providing all of Brantford and Brant County’s specialty programs and services for our 120,000+ residents and boasts stable, state-of-the-art programs within a team environment that ensures high level patient-focused care. It is a regional centre for a variety of services including surgical services.

Our Anesthesiology Department provides coverage for a variety of work at the Brantford General Hospital both in and outside of the Operating Rooms. The Anesthesiologists provide care of patients in a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, urology, orthopedics, gynecology, endoscopy along with some pediatrics and ENT. Our Brantford General Hospital (BGH) site supports obstetrical care for an average of 1500 deliveries per year. We aim to have a department that promotes a good work-life balance with a flexible work schedule.

We are currently seeking full time permanent, Associate Anesthesiologists to join our Anesthesiology Department. They will be practicing as a part of a group of 14 anesthesiologist providing anesthesia services at the Brantford General Hospital. This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Interested physicians must be certified in anesthesiology by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent (e.g. American Board) or have a Certificate of Added Competence in Family Practice Anesthesia from the CFPC and be licensed, or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The candidate should have experience working with both adult and pediatric patients.

Compensation for this work is through fee-for-service billings to the Ontario Health Insurance Plan with additional compensation for on-call via Hospital On-Call Coverage Program (HOCC). Physician will apply for their own personal and professional benefits through the Ontario Medical Association or insurance provider of choice.

BCHS has an affiliation with McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences thus promotes continuing education, teaching and research opportunities for all of professional staff.
