The Department of Surgery at the Timmins and District Hospital, located in Northeastern Ontario, is inviting applications for a second full-time Otolaryngologist. The Timmins and District Hospital is a 153-bed fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of emergency, medical, surgical, critical care, Ob/Gyne, pediatric, long term care and mental health services. The successful candidate will serve a Timmins population of approximately 45,000 but a catchment area of 110,000. We are looking for a general otolaryngologist with a full breadth of practice, both adult and pediatric. Equitable access to operating room time and reasonable on-call expectations. Applicants should possess good clinical and surgical skills and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for a full independent medical license in the Province of Ontario. Remuneration is on a fee-for-service basis, plus HOCC on-call stipend. Also eligible for the Northern Specialist Alternate Funding Plan. Relocation assistance is provided and incentives are available through the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative. Support is available for a community assessment visit. The Timmins and District Hospital provides the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents through our affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
