TADH is a 154-bed referral and teaching hospital. It offers multidisciplinary care in the areas of emergency, medical, surgical, critical care, maternity, newborn, pediatric, long-term care, and mental health services. TADH provides care to a catchment population of approximately 115,000 people. The Timmins and District Hospital is searching for a second provider. Onsite access to ophthalmic surgery OR, laser suite WITH Nd-YAG, Argon and diode capabilities as well as a minor procedure room to support a truly comprehensive ophthalmology practice. With this appointment, the successful candidate will receive full surgical privileges with generous operating room time. With a city population of roughly 45,000, Timmins has all the best Northern Ontario has to offer, all seasons, by way of outdoor recreation. There are popular, beautiful lakes within less than an hour of downtown. Timmins offers residents hockey for all ages, local cross country and downhill skiing with recreational programming as well as world-class snowmobile trails. Kayaking is very popular here on the lakes as well as on the Mattagami River running right through the city. There are two eighteen-hole golf courses to enjoy and a large Sportplex Pool complex. Timmins has a well-serviced, busy airport with multiple, daily, short flights to Toronto. Relocation incentives are provided by the Timmins and District Hospital. The successful candidates can also apply to the Northern Ontario Recruitment and Retention Incentive Program provided by Ontario Health.
