The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care and Mental Health services. There are popular, beautiful lakes within less than an hour of downtown. Timmins offers residents hockey for all ages, local cross country and downhill skiing with recreational programming as well as world-class snowmobile trails. Kayaking is very popular here on the lakes as well as on the Mattagami River running right through the city. There are two eighteen-hole golf courses to enjoy and a large Sportplex Pool complex. Timmins has a well-serviced, busy airport with multiple, daily, short flights to Toronto.

Relocation incentives are provided by the Timmins and District Hospital. The successful candidates can also apply to the Northern Ontario Recruitment and Retention Incentive Program provided by Ontario Health. This program includes an $80,000 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a practice in Timmins.

Applicants must hold Canadian citizenship and must hold or be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
