Community Information: Timmins and District Hospital is a fully accredited teaching facility with a close-knit, collegial, and supportive Medical Staff who not only work together but socialize together as well. Our affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine provides ample opportunity to teach and mentor undergrad and postgrad learners. Department Description: The Emergency Department sees an average of 100-140 patients per day and 40,000 visits annually. As a district hospital serving a catchment area of 110,000, we offer a comprehensive community practice with access to most major specialties and imaging modalities such as MRI, CT and Nuclear Medicine. Schedule and Compensation: Competitive compensation is a combination of an Alternate Funding Agreement, Fee-For-Service, and Trauma On-Call. The Emergency Department is staffed with five or six 8-hour shifts per day. Requirements: - Applicants must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario under an independent practice license. CCFP is preferred but CCFP will be considered. Current certification is required in ACLS and ATLS. Incentives: - Relocation incentive is provided by TADH. – Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $80,000 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents that establish a practice in Timmins. – Support is provided for a community assessment visit.
