Job Posting
full time Physician - Radiology at Timmins and District Hospital
Timmins, Ontario
Job ID: 8217

Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is recruiting for a Full-Time or Permanent Part-Time Radiologist to join a busy department. Applicants must have FRCPC designation and be licensed to practice Diagnostic Radiology by the CPSO.

TADH is a 154-bed referral and teaching hospital. It offers multidisciplinary care in the areas of emergency, medical, surgical, critical care, maternity, newborn, pediatric, long-term care, and mental health services. TADH provides care to a catchment population of approximately 115,000 people.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department is equipped with a fluoroscopy suite, several ultrasound machines, a 320 slice Canon CT and a 1.5T Siemens MRI unit.

We are seeking candidates with established training and skills in reporting all imaging modalities including: x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. The department does offer some minor non-vascular interventional services, which are assigned along with other diagnostic studies on a rotational basis. If not trained, willingness to participate and obtain training for CT colonography and BMD certification will be considered an asset.

TADH radiologists practice in a true consultative manner with the referring physicians and communities. Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to converse with clinicians and staff at different sites regarding patient care is essential.

With a city population of roughly 45,000, Timmins has all the best Northern Ontario has to offer, all seasons, by way of outdoor recreation. There are popular, beautiful lakes within less than an hour of downtown. Timmins offers residents hockey for all ages, local cross country and downhill skiing with recreational programming as well as world-class snowmobile trails. Kayaking is very popular here on the lakes as well as on the Mattagami River running right through the city. There are two eighteen-hole golf courses to enjoy and a large Sportplex Pool complex. Timmins has a well-serviced, busy airport with multiple, daily, short flights to Toronto.

Consideration will be given to both full-time and permanent part-time sharing arrangements. Remote reading from outside of Timmins is not part of our practice.

Incentives:

1) Relocation incentive is provided by TADH.
2) Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $80,000 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents that establish a practice in Timmins.
3) Support is provided for a community assessment visit.
