Prairie Mountain Health is looking for 2 Family physicians to share a practice in rural Manitoba, Canada.

Carberry Health Centre is a 10-bed acute care facility and provides care to a 36-bed long term care facility. Services offered to the facility are Diagnostic Services, reduced hours Emergency Department, Public Health, Mental Health, Nurse Practitioner, OT, PT and Home Care Services.

Duties to include: diagnose and treat the diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients. Act as the primary care provider and provide continuous care toward the management of patients’ health at the Carberry Medical Clinic, Carberry Health Centre and Carberry Long Term Care.

If desired, extra locum shifts are available on an as needed basis for physician vacation in other locations within Prairie Mountain Health:

Located 45 kilometers east of Brandon, Carberry is a town in the R.M. of North Cypress in south-western Manitoba. The current population of RM of North Cypress-Langford & Carberry is >3000. Local retailers offer flowers, food, hardware, groceries, clothing as well as handmade crafts. In the winter months visit the tranquil skating oval and try out cross-country skiing, curling, snowmobiling and hockey.

Just 15 minutes from Carberry, the Spruce Woods Provincial Park offers many summer activities such as camping, golfing and hiking. Explore the shifting sand dunes and the unique flora and fauna found in this majestic desert paradise. You can hike one of the many desert trails, take a guided covered-wagon ride through the sandhills or discover the Devil’s Punch Bowl – an eerie blue-green spring-fed pond.

Qualifications:

Must be eligible for licensure with the College of physicians and surgeons of Manitoba Must be hold or be eligible for membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association CCFP or CCFP exempt is preferred ACLS PALS language: English

Compensation:

Remuneration will be that of an Independent Contractor as per the collective agreement between Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Healthy Living and Seniors. A full time Independent Contract physician would provide 1744 hour of clinic service and would make $353,421.60/year or $202.65/hr.

On call stipends are paid separately and in addition to current contract rate as per the Doctors Manitoba negotiated Rural and Northern Community’s ER agreement rates. The current stipend for call rates for Carberry is $826.51 for weekdays and $1,295.80 for weekends and holidays.

As this is an Independent Contract position, benefits are not provided and may be purchased by the physician if desired.
