This is a solo full-scope General Surgery position in Dawson Creek, well supported
with excellent Radiology, Orthopaedic and Internal Medicine services. Full-scope
General Surgery practice including endoscopy, laproscopy, and some trauma.
Present surgeon is leaving after 16 years in the community. Dawson Creek has a
population of approximately 12,500, provides primary service to a population of
20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region,
approximately 60,000.
Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that
provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 acute
care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Services include:
• 24/7 emergency
ICU
• Medical and surgical in-patient care
• Day surgery
• Respiratory therapy
• Diabetic education
• Primary care
• General surgery
• Lab
• Medical imaging with CT
• Cancer care
