Job Description

We have opportunities for up to six family physicians, seeking to establish a practice at an exceptional location. We need physicians looking to set down career roots, but we also have opportunity for those willing to provide interim coverage for a period of one year. An opportunity to experience Steinbach and to check us out.

Our greatest need is for those seeing patients in-clinic, but there are also opportunities for same day care coverage (similar to walk-in); hospital in-patient coverage; personal care home coverage; and family practice obstetrics.

Steinbach Family Medical is a great place to begin your career. We have a great facility, and we provide excellent mentorship. Consider starting out together. Steinbach Family Medical is the largest fee-for-service clinic in Southeastern Manitoba, with 21 Family Physicians and 4 General Surgeons. We are ideally situated in the Bethesda Primary Care Centre, an interdisciplinary health facility opened in 2017. We are co-located with Primary Care Pharmacy, Dynacare Lab, Quick Care Clinic, Southern Health Community Services (includes mid-wives & mental health), and adjacent to a medical mall with additional health professionals specializing in physical therapy, hearing, dermatology, senior care, and more.

We were the first My Health Team implemented in Manitoba and partner resources dedicated to our group include a Clinical Pharmacist, Chronic Disease Nurses, Dietitians, Wound Care Nurse, Shared Care Mental Health Counsellors, Social Worker, and a Nurse Practitioner at our satellite clinic located in Steinbach Regional Secondary School.

We are a robust, rural teaching site affiliated with the University of Manitoba, providing preceptorship opportunities and the benefit of learners assisting with practices.

We provide professional, on-site administration, billing claims processing, and support staff; two dedicated exam rooms when scheduled in; Input Health EMR – cloud based, patient integrated, simple to navigate, with easy remote access capability.

Qualifications

Eligible for licensure with College of Physicians & Surgeons Manitoba; Completed, or near completion of CCFP designation

Compensation

Fee-For-Service 5% rural premium paid on all MB Health claims Split fee agreement of 75/25 up to June 30, 2023 Signing bonus available to those just completing Family Medicine Residency
