Job Posting
full time Physician - Pathology at Northern Health Authority
Prince George, British Columbia
Job ID: 7519

Applications are invited for a pathologist position at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC). The successful candidate will join a group of 5 other pathologists at UHNBC, Prince George. This is a regional centre that provides a wide range of anatomical and clinical pathology services to Northern BC.

Minimum requirements include Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in anatomical pathology or general pathology and eligibility for licensure to practice in BC.

Our department receives approximately 20, 000 surgical specimens annually from UHNBC and the surrounding area. We support general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology and ENT practices. Family physicians, dermatologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, respirologists and other clinical specialties are also important contributors to our anatomical pathology work.

Clinical pathology is a large part of our practice, including direct interpretation of clinical specimens/assay results (eg. bone marrows, peripheral smears, protein electrophoresis etc.), consultation with clinical colleagues and medical leadership/oversight of transfusion, microbiology and chemistry laboratories in a local and regional setting.

We are looking for an anatomical/general pathologist who will maintain the highest possible standards of practice and is motivated to participate in medical leadership and oversight.
