Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Division of Cardiac Anesthesia at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist. This is a permanent, full-time position. The effective date of this appointment is July 1st, 2017.
Description – The candidate must have a strong clinical/educational background, with advanced Fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia as well as pediatric and adult congenital cardiac anesthesia. The successful candidate is expected to complement the Division’s academic, educational and research productivity, and help foster collaboration with the adult congenital cardiac program at UHN. In addition, this individual will be responsible for building a sustainable patient safety/quality program within the cardiac anesthesia division. Additional responsibilities include clinical pediatric and pediatric cardiac anesthesia practice, research, education, and administrative responsibilities as required by a staff cardiac anesthesiologist.

The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher at the University of Toronto. In addition, he/she will be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

SickKids is a paediatric academic health science centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto, dedicated to the care of children. The Division of Cardiac Anesthesia is comprised of 8 cardiac anesthesiologists, and provides perioperative care for neonates and children with aquired and congenital heart disease. The Division is an integral component of The Labatt Family Heart Center.

Salary will be between the range of $200,000 – $416,000, as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience.
