Position Summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is looking for physicians seeking full-time or part-time practice opportunities in Steinbach. There are currently three different group practices providing services within the community. There are a variety of options when it comes practice opportunities that would fit your career plans, and lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a small group practice, large group practice, teaching opportunities, flexible schedules, there is a practice for you.

Steinbach is located in Southeastern Manitoba at the junction of Highways 12 and 52, Steinbach (town pop. 21,327; district pop. 33,589) and is the third largest city in Manitoba. Steinbach is one of the fastest growing cities in Manitoba. They have a vibrant business community and a wealth of locally generated economic activity. As the hub of economic activities in southeastern Manitoba, Steinbach is the regional shopping, service centre, and agriculture supply centre for a large area. The city is home to a wide array of retail outlets including stores for clothing, groceries, hardware, building supplies, furniture, appliances, jewelry, books, flowers and sporting goods. Several service stations, repair shops and car dealerships are also located in the City.

Steinbach is passionate about outdoor activities and have a number of well-kept parks for family outings, ball parks, soccer fields, a golf course, and several kilometers of cycling and walking paths which all provide excellent opportunities to stay active and have fun. Steinbach also has several first-rate recreational facilities, including an Aquatic Centre, two arenas, a Cultural Arts Centre, and several fitness centres. These indoor recreation options allow for year-round enjoyment. In winter, several outdoor skating rinks are created throughout the City and in summer, the Quarry Skate Park is a popular place for young people. Qualifications

The required skills would be dependent on your practice and the services you would provide to the community. ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATLS and AIME are some of the courses that would be required and/or recommended.

Must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job. Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums. Good work and attendance record.
Conditions of Employment

Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
