Physician - Plastic Surgery at St. Boniface Hospital

Details: Shared Health, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the University of Manitoba invite applications for a full-time academic General Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon to commence on August 1, 2022 (or on a date mutually agreed upon). This is a geographical full-time, contingent position and the successful candidate will be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher depending on current academic rank) in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and tertiary care medicine. The candidate will be expected to conduct independent research and supervise postgraduate trainees conducting research. The position will be located primarily at St. Boniface Hospital, with secondary responsibility at other sites within the Region. The Program incorporates a rich mix of emergent and elective Plastic Surgery. The St. Boniface General Hospital provides comprehensive Plastic Surgery care to a population base of 1.2 million people. Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Preference will be given to Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Fellows. Applicants who have specialty qualifications in Plastic Surgery in their country of current practice and hold eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for certification may also be considered. The candidate must be eager to work in a group setting, showing commitment to working in a collegial and supportive manner with the surgeons at the site. The site is hoping to expand its footprint in residency education and build on an already exemplary track record of resident and medical student teaching. Compensation: Remuneration is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
