Details: The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba is seeking an ALS Director in the Section of Neurology. The section is one of 17 in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education, and research. This position includes an academic appointment within the Section of Neurology; one that has substantial resources within the health system, primarily at two academic health centres and one community-based hospital. The 28 faculty members form a section that includes a highly productive and internationally renowned Multiple Sclerosis research group and a strong residency training program. Preference will be given to those having subspecialty expertise in the diagnosis and management of patients with ALS and other neuromuscular disorders. In particular, the role includes leading a multidisciplinary team working in a well-established ALS clinic. Within the Section of Neurology there is also opportunity to participate in clinics related to Electrodiagnostics, General Neuromuscular Disease, and General Neurology. Qualifications: Candidates must have senior specialty qualifications in Neurology in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. Compensation: Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income with an additional stipend.
