Associate/Professor – Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology

The Toronto Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Mount Sinai Health System, and Women’s College Hospital, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is recruiting a Full-Time hybrid diagnostic/interventional Neuroradiologist in the Neuroradiology Division. The JDMI operates across the following Institutions: Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (collectively known as University Health Network, “UHN”), Sinai Health System and Women’s College Hospital. This position is to be primarily based out of Toronto Western Hospital with responsibilities also to include other Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) locations in Toronto. The anticipated start date is December 1, 2021 or as mutually agreed.
Candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent and be a board certified radiologist and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario and all candidates must be able to function proficiently in English. The successful candidate should have two years of dedicated diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology fellowship. Duties include: excellence in the entire field of interventional neuroradiology, including spinal percutaneous procedures, stroke intervention, aneurysm and shunting lesion treatments as well as pediatric interventional neuroradiology, facial vascular malformations and venous stenting are essential and will need to be verified by a case log-book indicating whether these interventions were performed as primary or secondary operator. Other job duties include: performing the entire spectrum of neurointerventional procedures, on–call duties, taking part in interdisciplinary neurovascular clinics and perform diagnostic neuroradiology imaging related work.
The successful candidate needs to have experience in the management of spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) including proficiency at digital subtraction myelography (DSM). The candidate is required to have an extensive experience with endovascular embolization of brain AVM embolization (performing more than 200 cases as primary operator). The candidate should have extensive experience in translational in vivo research related to brain vascular conditions (such as aneurysm and vasospasm therapy). Candidates with extensive research experience and, in particular, peer-reviewed publications in both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology will be selected preferentially.
The successful candidate should be eligible for a senior academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Compensation is in accordance with the uniform average income of a Radiologist in the Province of Ontario in the range of $350,000-$500,000 per annum (fee-for-service billings) for a full-time position (45 hours per week) with an opportunity for increased income commensurate with experience and academic credentials. The successful candidate is anticipated to join the Radiologist professional practice plan of the Department, and will have the option of purchasing health and dental insurance through the group practice plan.
