Shared Health – Diagnostic Services and The University of Manitoba, Department of Radiology Section of Nuclear Medicine invites applications for dual trained Nuclear Medicine and Radiologist physician. This will be for a clinical position located at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC). The responsibilities will include supervision and interpretation of examinations, commitment to high-quality patient care, teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate) and research.

HSC is the largest tertiary health care centre in Manitoba. As an operating division of Shared Health, HSC provides comprehensive diagnostic, outpatient (ambulatory) and inpatient services, including being the designated regional trauma centre, which supports the physical, medical and emotional needs of the people and communities we serve. HSC also provides care for cancer patients with our partner, CancerCare Manitoba, located on the HSC campus. HSC provides approximately 250 000 DI services per year, of which ~ 10 000 are Nuclear Medicine including state of the art SPECT/CT and PET/CT. HSC is also the clinical and research neuroscience centre for the province.

The University of Manitoba is a major research university located in the city of Winnipeg. The city has a rich cultural environment with symphony, opera, dance, theatre and ethnic festivals. The region also provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation in all seasons.

Qualifications:

The candidate will have specialty qualifications in Nuclear Medicine and preferably also Diagnostic Radiology and be eligible for registration, as a specialist, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. Those possessing only Nuclear Medicine certification, and meeting the other conditions discussed above, may be considered if they offer significant and beyond routine practice, related academic research and/or clinical expertise. Compensation is derived from both fee-for-service incomes as well as per the Doctors Manitoba Agreement for Nuclear Radiologists (based on EFT).
