The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG) provides specialized mental health services to the population of eastern Ontario. We have a full range of specialized mental health services delivering specialized mental health care (tertiary level) for people living with serious and persistent mental illness, complex diagnoses and/or severe behavioral problems. We are selectively recruiting physicians to supplement our current team of over 180 physicians. ROHCG is dedicated to exploring new approaches to mental health treatment through leading edge research and education.
The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group offers a variety of specialized mental health treatment services, including the following programs:
• Anxiety Disorders
• Community Mental Health Program
• Integrated Forensic Program
• Geriatric Program
• Central Intake/Triage
• Mood Disorders
• Schizophrenia
• Women’s Mental Health
• Sleep Disorders
• Substance Use & Concurrent Disorders
• Youth Program
• Ottawa Operational Stress Injury Clinic (partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada)

The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre is a teaching hospital of the University of Ottawa and is networked with Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) and Carleton University (Ottawa, Ontario). We are interested in Physicians (permanent) who will pursue a university faculty appointment and participate in academic activities within a strong regional community hospital setting and who support Schedule 1 inpatient services at various hospital outpatient programs and services.

The ROHCG consists of:
1) The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre (Ottawa Ontario): One 190-bed state-of-the-art mental health facility and one 96-bed facility (32 recovery beds and 64 long term care beds). The Royal is the first hospital in Canada to open under P3/AFP concept in 2006.
2) The Brockville Mental Health Centre (Brockville Ontario): A specialized psychiatric facility with 161 inpatient beds (61 Forensic, 100 Secure Treatment Unit) and 183 beds in the community – Homes for Special Care
3) The University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research: Multidisciplinary research programs that investigate the biological and psychological factors contributing to mental illness and innovative treatments.
4) The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health: Fundraising organization that supports mental health research, capital projects and equipment purchases.
