Monday to Friday, 1430 – 2230 hours
BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC Canada

The Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program for Children & Adolescents provides care including supportive counseling to patients and their families, life-skills teaching to patients, teaching and providing meal support therapy to patients, friends and families and professionals in the community, advocating for patients, and medical monitoring.
As the Clinic Nurse, Eating Disorders Program you will provide and coordinate outpatient nursing activities such as patient assessment, patient and family teaching, and health promotion activities consistent with established policies, standards of practice, and philosophy at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital. Liaises with other members of the health care team, maintains accurate records, provides support and guidance to patients and their families and other health care professionals, and provides input into policies and procedures.

• Graduation from a recognized program in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
• Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC).
• Two (2) years’ of recent related clinical nursing experience including eating disorders experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to relate effectively to youth, children and their families and others.
• Ability to provide supportive counselling to youth and their families.
• Ability to function as an active member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to function as a nursing resource and teach health care students about eating disorders.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Ability to organize work.
