Job Posting
locum Physician - Emergency Medicine at Penticton Regional Hospital
Penticton, British Columbia
Job ID: 5056

Summary
Emergency Medicine

We are looking for a Full-time Emergency Medicine certified individual (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada Emergency or Certificate of Canadian Family Practitioners – Emergency), to cover maternity leave and the introduction of our EMR. We would certainly consider part-time and shorter-term applicant(s) if interested.

We have a great group of 14 Emergency physicians from various backgrounds – fully certified (Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of Canada-Emergency), Certificate of Canadian Family Practitioners (Emergency) and experienced family physicians staffing our Department, which has an average of 36,500 visits annually. We are paid an hourly stipend for each shift type on an alternate payment service contract with Interior Health, which is very competitive and gives a predictable amount per shift. There is very good specialist support available and double physician coverage for most of the day and evenings. Excellent radiology availability with on site Computed Tomography (CT) and part-time Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI). We do some teaching of University of British Columbia 4th year medical students, as well as, Family Practice Residents. We are also a Regional Trauma Referral Centre.

This is an opportunity to enjoy the South Okanagan’s exceptional recreation and culture: world class wineries, beaches, boating, hiking, fishing, golf and rock climbing, while working in the Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department.
