Come and join our Allied Health Team in Cranbrook, BC! We have a dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) opportunity for a clinician who enjoys diversity and eager to make an impact in the lives of others.

The successful Occupational Therapist will provide community care services to the community of Cranbrook, as well as to our residential and convalescent care programs. This position will connect with East Kootenay Regional Hospital’s Acute Care to assist with transition of patients to and from the hospital and back into the community (i.e. home, convalescent or residential care).

Practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC), the Occupational Therapist works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing residential and community occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.

This position may include travel to all points in the East Kootenay Health Service area. It is a relief part time (0.20 FTE) until the return of the incumbent. Shift times are 08:00 to 16:00.

Note: Interior Health also has a permanent part time (0.34) position in Kimberley (competition 01073447) and a relief part time (0.40) in Cranbrook (acute – competition 01073281) that could be worked in conjunction with this vacancy.

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
