Oncologic Pathologist

BC Cancer provides a comprehensive cancer control program under the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) for the people of British Columbia. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is responsible for surgical pathology consultations, central oncologic pathology reviews, in-house and referred-in non-gynecologic cytology, provincial cancer genetics, cancer biomarker testing, predictive molecular tests for patient-selection for targeted therapies, and for the provincial cervical cancer screening program.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking an anatomic pathologist with expertise in diagnostic oncologic pathology and related translational research. Priority will be given to applicants with specific post-certification fellowship training (1 year minimum) and/or experience at a major academic cancer centre. Expertise and specialty interest in the areas of molecular pathology, lung pathology and/or breast pathology is preferred. Protected time will be allocated based on academic productivity, to facilitate clinical, translational or fundamental research pursuit related to cancer. The successful candidate will be recommended for an appointment with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of British Columbia.

Additional Comments
Applicants should have Royal College (RCPSC) certification in Anatomic Pathology, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. The applicant must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia.
