full time Physician - Emergency Medicine at Vancouver General Hospital
Vancouver, British Columbia
Job ID: 4391

Summary
Emergency Physician

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking one or more Emergency Physicians to join their group in a full-time clinical capacity at the following hospital:

Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Emergency Department sees approximately 95,000 patients per year and houses a Level 1 Trauma Centre. VGH is a 850 bed adult tertiary care hospital focusing on world class tertiary, trauma and neurological care. This provides for a diverse and professionally rewarding career. VGH is located 5 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

The successful applicant will be FRCPC-EM, CCFP-EM, or ABEM (with a BC practice license) qualified, and will come with excellent references as well as experience in training/working in a high acuity and volume centre.

We are seeking candidates who are interested in a full-time clinical commitment, approximately 13 shifts per month as well as those interested in part time commitment. The salary is not fee-for-service but rather based on an alternate payment contract and consistent with that of a full-time emergency physician in British Columbia. Details will be provided to interested candidates.

Vancouver is a beautiful cosmopolitan city on the Pacific Ocean. British Columbia’s mild weather makes it ideal for those that enjoy exploring nature and those that are active in sports. World class skiing is just two hours away at Whistler.

Our groups are highly collegial and, support strong research and academic educational programs. Both FRCPC and CCFP (EM) residents are trained within our regional Emergency Departments. We encourage members to pursue outside activities both medical and non-medical.
